Biergarten am Muffatwerk
At the Muffatwerk, Munich is different, more alternative. At night, the electronic basses and guitars of the live bands flock from the concert hall. A classic white-blue folklore program is also served in the adjoining beer garden. For vegans, for example, a froth of hops, malt and barley is on the menu. The bratwurst or the "Brezenknödel" on the menu are - like all food - ecological.
Young people in particular are attracted by the alternative offer of the former power plant, whose chimney now dominates the Club Ampere and the cultural areas of the Muffat factory. Likewise there are families with children sitting on beer benches or deckchairs and the guy at the Nachbartisch carries the bandshirt with Bluejeans and Cap also with the beginning of forties still - because at the Muffatwerk just everyone may come as it is.
As with most beer gardens, visitors have to pick up the breads and drinks themselves. The prices are even relatively fair for Munich. The "Hofbräuhaus" is available for € 7.90, the pair of Hermannsdorfer organic sausages is available for € 6.20, the "Rahmschwammerl" with "Breznknödel" for € 7.80, a Bio Bechereis with chocolate or mango for € 2.80. Hot tip for lukewarm summers on the Isar: the specialties of the lava grotto.
