Isartor
Even the Isartor belonged to the medieval city fortifications under Louis the Bavarian. The Isartor by Friedrich von Gärtner in the years 1833 - 35 was originally restored in 1337 with the main tower, two Vortürmen and Wehrhof.
It was badly damaged during the Second World War and in 1958 bequeathed a ruin of Karl Valentin Foundation. The "Valentinisartorausstellungsturmausschuß" created a memorial for the comedian and folk singer Karl Valentin in Munich. The Valentine Museum in Isartor was equipped with all sorts of curiosities, and can be visited since September 1959.
