Königsplatz

One of the most beautiful places in Munich is the neoclassical Royal Palace. He goes back to King Ludwig I, who had him design a forum for the arts as opposed to the Forum of Science in 1811 by Karl Ludwig Street from Fischer. King Ludwig I, was a great admirer of Greek culture. His son Otto was the first king of Greece. Ludwig I supported the Greek struggle for liberation from the Turks and won with the installation of a piece Köngisplatzes Greece to Munich. GlyptothekAls first building was built on the north side of the Glyptothek with Ionic columns, by Leo von Klenze. Directly across Georg Friedrich Ziebland established the National Collection of Ancient Corinthian portico with Doric gateway of the Propylaea and close the space on the west side. The Propylaea was originally planted with lawns rectangular space was in the era of National Socialism, lined with granite slabs and used for parades and mass gatherings. Since, in heavy rainfall, the water could drain properly, the square was given the nickname "Balaton". Meanwhile, the Royal Palace was re-landscaped.
